Grasses
Grasses are an integral component of the perennial landscape. They provide long-season interest with summer foliage, fall flwoers, and a dried winter appeal. They are very disease resistant and require little maintenance.
Gardenworld offers Grasses 2 different ways:
Dormant Potted Grasses ( orders shipped 2/1 thru 4/7 )
- Our dormant grasses are potted in 3.5" pots, packed 24 per tray. They are one-year old plants, fully rooted, with large crowns ready to explode in spring. Grasses do require warm temperatures, especially Miscanthus, in order to break dormancy and should be grown in a greenhouse at a minimum temperature of 55F. If growing outside or in a cold frame, please delay your order until your outside air temperature has warmed accordingly.
Pregrown Potted Grasses ( orders shipped 4/14 or later )
- Pregrown grasses will be actively growing when you receive them. They must be grown at temperatures of 65F or higher to keep them actively growing. If grown cooler, they may go dormant. These grasses are lush and full and will fill out a gallon quickly
